Orlando, Fla.—Nobody knows exactly how long this pandemic distancing due to the COVID-19 will last. Some estimates put us closing this year 2020 at home. Essential businesses may continue their normal operations but, all others may need to adjust their operations to our new normal. We have been forced by nature to redefine productivity in an era when most things can be adapted to a distance functionality, and remote companies are gaining traction.
All is not lost! If you are not already used to work from home, we want to highlight the following advantages that will make you smile:
You are your clock owner.
With a flexible schedule you will find you can achieve more, including getting your breaks when you need them. You can run errands (virtually of course) at a time that suits the other party’s work hours, and you still will be able to accomplish whatever your work goal is for the day.
A controlled positive environment.
No office distractions to start with. It doesn’t seem so important, but you will find out how much you are capable of getting things done at a faster pace. Also, you will now be able to setup noise levels-- from playing soft music to keep you relaxed and concentrated, or to something more exciting to stimulate those creative juices.
Less formal clothing.
We don’t mean you’ll be working on pajamas or sweat pants all day. Dressing not as formal as if you were going to the office, but relax enough to get your day started may help you establish your discipline, which is crucial to work from home.
The virtual meetings.
Meetings will now be reduced to those that are really necessary, and can’t be substituted by an email, or call. You won’t need to schedule your meeting based on a conference room availability, although other participants may not be available for the time you prefer to do it and still need to engage in schedule negotiations with co-workers, and/or supervisors. Then, there’s always this thing — if you do not have a designated office space in your residence where you can isolate yourself to focus on your work, you’ll need to find ways to keep other family members, AND PETS, under control.
Lunch can be inexpensive while gourmet.
If saving money, or maybe starting a healthy diet is something you have in mind right now, what a great way to make it happen! You have now become a chooser, not a beggar at the fast food. You are now the king of eating well, fresh, and at the right schedule.
In today’s economy having a home based business is no surprise, as a matter of fact it’s become very popular. According to recent U.S. Small Business Administration data, over fifty percent of all American businesses are home-based. Most business owners, including home-based businesses, can’t visualize the impact of unpredicted events, to their small operation. Having an appropriate Business Owners Policy (BOP) coverage can mark the difference between escalating your business’ success to the next level, or failing to pursue your very own dream.
