Orlando, Fla. — We know, we have been talking about all the situations that may harm your business structure and property but this time we want to take the OPPORTUNITY.
Don’t we all know that this is the season that makes or breaks the year figures for most of our businesses? Now that we have taken the time to be thankful, we can now spare some time to show how much we care about others.
Let’s all be Santa!
The Holidays bring us just that.
A unique opportunity to GIVE. We have received so much, or as much as we worked for. There are many, we mean many, organizations in Orlando, Winter Park, Clermont, Daytona, Melbourne, Tampa, Sarasota, Jacksonville, Ocala, Gainesville, Tallahassee, Panama City and Pensacola among many others in Florida, that organize events to help families in need. The homeless, people in hospitals, people who feel lonely and suffer from depression during the holidays and many other causes — they all need our help.
We found this great resource to start our search on how to get involved.
As entrepreneurs and business owners, we have a big responsibility with those with less resources or in dire need in the middle of Christmas and all other celebrated holidays during this season of the year.
According to an article published by Reuters in November 2017, a group that includes large and small retail business owners, said in January that holiday sales had grown 4 percent last year to $658.3 billion. The industry group is yet to put out its holiday sales forecast for this year.
Also, the disposable personal income is expected to grow 3.8 percent to 4.2 percent, from 2 percent last year, Deloitte’s senior U.S. economist, Daniel Bachman, said in a statement.
These are really enticing news! It means many, if not most, of us will close this year with very encouraging numbers.
What else can we ask for?
Compassion, sharing, caring and all those other sentiments that flourish, especially during the holiday season, and now that we have a pretty clear idea of how the business year will close — we have evidence that we can get involved in helping others.
There are many ways you can participate. You can donate time volunteering in some of these events. If your employees appreciate the opportunity, make a group and see how you can make a real difference in the way the event is conducted, thus obtain much better results.
You can obviously donate money, and with the advice of your accountant, you may have some tax benefits.
One more thing you can do to help, is to attend some events.
The are excellent charitable shows and entertainment options, through and around Central Florida this year. You’ll find exciting choices like Tacos for Toys, a Grand Masquerade Ball for New Year’s Eve, Tech for Good among them.
So, without further due — Let’s do this!
- Pick the one of your choice.
- Have a ball! (literally)
- Close the books with magnificent numbers, and a monumental sense of satisfaction that comes with being a responsible business citizen.
After all, caring for others is caring for all, including ourselves.
Have a wonderful Holiday Season!
