ORLANDO, Fla. —On Sunday, May 5, the U.S. Small Business Administration National Small Business Week 2019 kicks off with a week-long celebration. National Small Business Week is proclaimed by the President of the United States to recognize the critical contributions made by America’s small businesses and entrepreneurs to our economy. More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business, and they create about two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year.

Since 1963, National Small Business Week recognizes the critical contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners. Manatee County has a wealth of local businesses; contact the Manatee Chamber of Commerce to learn the who’s who of the small business world.
The U.S. Small Business Administration and SCORE Association will host a free, 2-Day Virtual Conference during National Small Business Week. The conference will take place Tuesday, May 7 – Wednesday, May 8. Registration is free to the public and you can participate in all the webinars or pick and choose the topics you like. You will also have the opportunity to meet other business owners and chat with industry experts. The Virtual Conference offers all the best parts of an in-person conference, but without the hassle of traveling.

The event will include free educational webinars, mentoring, and networking opportunities. Experts from Visa to address disaster recovery, Constant Contact, Square, Google, Chase, and the SBA will speak during the two-days. Also, Comcast and Entrepreneur are going to present a webinar to discuss the impact of smart technology on small business growth, productivity, and customer experience. FSBDC at UCF will Honor Clients as U.S. Small Business Administration Award Winners and Local Advisor as Regional Volunteer of the Year
The Florida Small Business Development Center (FSBDC) at UCF’s National Small Business Week celebration will occur on Tuesday, May 21st at the 2019 Small Business Awards Luncheon, an invitation-only event being held at the Citrus Club in downtown Orlando. The luncheon will feature remarks by representatives from the Florida SBDC and the U.S. Small Business Administration who will present the following awards to the local FSBDC at UCF and state and district SBA awards recipients in attendance:
